General Info

We invite you to attend the 28th Annual Classified Leadership Institute at the Riverside Convention Center, situated in historical Riverside, CA. The annual institute focuses on effective classified participation in participatory (shared) governance processes, both state-wide and at the local district and college levels. We have a great set of presenters and will be counting on you to participate and share your knowledge.

Registration Refunds

All Classified Leadership Institute registration fees will be fully refunded back to the credit card used to at the time of registration. Due to the high number of canceled events, as well as the number of attendees registered for this event, please expect to see the credit to be applied in approximately 4 to 5 weeks. If you have any questions regarding your registration refund, please email Sadie Brown at sadie@ccleague.org.

Early-Bird Presenter Registration - $605.00
This registration rate is for presenters only. After February 29, 2020 this rate will increase to $630.

Room Cancellations

All guest room reservations made within the group block at the Marriott Riverside will be automatically canceled and will be issued an email cancellation in the coming weeks. If you happened to make a reservation outside of the group block, with a third party or at another property, you will have to call them directly and cancel your guest room reservations. Any deposits made to the hotel will be fully refunded to the credit card which provided the initial deposit. If a check was sent to the hotel from your school or district, the hotel will have to issue a check back to the appropriate entity. As the venue has a limited staffing, please allow for 5 to 6 weeks to see the any and all reimbursements.


Hotel Accommodations

The Marriott Riverside at the Convention Center is located in the heart of historic downtown Riverside nestled in the Inland Empire. The hotel is located adjacent to the newly renovated Riverside Convention Center, and 15 miles from Ontario International Airport. The hotel features 292 luxurious accommodations including 24 spacious suites ideal for the business and leisure travelers. The hotel is within walking distance to the Fox Performing Arts Center, the historic Mission Inn, and the Riverside Pedestrian Main Street Mall. The hotel offers a business center, a dedicated Concierge lounge with breakfast & evening Hors d'oeuvres. You will make your own hotel reservations by calling the Marriott at (800) 627-7468 and asking for the CCL room block. Only a specific number of rooms will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Make your reservations early for the best available conference accommodations.

If you plan to bring family members, please be sure to reserve a single room. If more than one room is needed, please book the additional room(s) directly with the hotel and not within the CLI room block. Family members are not included in reservations for CLI meals or activities, so please plan to pay for their meals and hotel services separately. Additional meals must be purchased via the CCLC registration process. “Guest Meals” include any individual joining you for a meal who is not registered for the conference.

The conference fee (paid to CCLC) covers conference registration costs, facilities, and breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Please understand that the CLI room block is limited and that rooms are available and reserved for conference participants only. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

From Ontario International Airport
CA-60 East to the downtown exit on the right for Market Street. Merge onto Market Street and proceed to 5th Street. Turn left and the hotel will be on the left.

From Orange County (John Wayne Airport)/Beach Cities
Take 405 North to 55 North to 91 East and exit at University Avenue. Turn left to Market Street and proceed to 5th Street. Turn left and the hotel will be on the left.

From Los Angeles International Airport
Take 105 East to 605 North to CA-60 East to the downtown exit on the right for Market Street. Merge onto Market Street and proceed to 5th Street. Turn left and the hotel will be on the left.

From San Diego/Temecula
15 North to 91 East (Riverside), Exit University Ave/Downtown. Turn left and proceed to Market Street. Turn right and the hotel is three blocks on the right.

From Palm Springs
10 West to 60 West. Turn left to Market Street and proceed to 5th Street. Turn left and the hotel will be on the left.

Meetings & Activities

4CS Business Meeting
The California Community Colleges Classified Senate (4CS) will be holding their annual business meeting and acting on various items on Thursday, June 11, 2020. The Business Meeting is open to all classified staff of the California Community Colleges. Registration for the conference is not necessary to attend only the 4CS Business Meeting.

Opportunity Drawing
The annual 4CS Opportunity Drawing will be held throughout the first two days of the conference. The purpose of the drawing is to raise funds to support the operations of the 4CS. Please also consider bringing something to donate to the 4CS Opportunity Drawing either as an individual or from your senate. Memento Exchange
Individual participants are encouraged to bring a memento that is representative of their college to exchange with other participants. The memento exchange is designed to encourage networking and interaction between participants.

CLI Awards and Recognition Program

2020 Outstanding Classified Staff Recognition Program. Our goal is to include and recognize, statewide, all classified staff that has received an award anytime from July 2019 through May 2020. With your help, they will be included in our slide presentation during the Classified Leadership Institute 2020 and on our website following the event.
