Electricity Consortium

The 22 districts in the Community College League’s Electricity Consortium have benefited financially from direct access to the power markets since 1998. During that time, the districts have saved millions of dollars in reduced electricity rates.

Direct access customers like those in the consortium enjoy fixed pricing for up to two years in the future. The ability to “lock in” electricity rates is an advantage in budgeting and managing costs. In addition, the program works hand-in-hand with districts as they explore solar and other renewable products and services. For more information please contact Lisa Mealoy 916-245-5027 or lmealoy@ccleague.org.

Solar and Battery Storage

The League is pleased to partner with The School Project for Utility Rate Reduction (SPURR) to offer Community Colleges a vetted option for solar and battery storage options on their campuses. Potential financial savings, along with support for renewable energy and support in the community may all be reasons to consider projects. For more information please contact Lisa Mealoy 916-245-5027 or lmealoy@ccleague.org.
