California Community College Trustees Elect 2020-21 CCCT Board Officers at First-Ever Virtual Business Meeting

SACRAMENTO, CA – On Monday, May 4, California Community College Trustees convened for the first-ever virtual Annual Business Meeting hosted by the Community College League of California. The annual meeting included the election of the 2020-21 California Community College Trustees (CCCT) Board officers:

  • President: Adrienne Grey, West Valley-Mission CCD
  • President-Elect: Kenneth A. Brown, El Camino CCD
  • First Vice President: Marisa Perez, Cerritos CCD
  • Second Vice President: Andra Hoffman, Los Angeles CCD

“California’s Community Colleges have always stepped forward to meet the needs of students and communities during tough times. The current global health crisis is perhaps the greatest challenge and greatest opportunity for us to do so again,” says Adrienne Grey, newly elected CCCT Board President. “It is with recognition of the difficulties before us, and expectation that our community college system will emerge stronger for our collective efforts, that I humbly and gratefully begin my service as President of the CCCT.”

New officers of the CCCT Board assume their new positions effective immediately. The CCCT Board takes positions on education policy issues that come before the California Community Colleges Board of Governors and the California State Legislature.

“Congratulations and thank you to President Grey and this exceptional group of local and statewide leaders for their dedication and commitment to advancing the critical mission of California’s community colleges,” says Dr. Larry Galizio, President and CEO of the Community College League of California.

The annual meeting also included a report on the association’s current work, the introduction of newly elected board members, and an opportunity for trustees from across the state to provide direction to the CCCT Board on major issues facing local boards and their districts.
