ETP Competencies
Excellence in Trusteeship Program Competencies

The Effective Trusteeship & Board Chair Workshops are opportunities for trustees enrolled in the League’s Excellence in Trusteeship Program (ETP) to complete work that applies toward the fulfillment of the program's competency requirements.

ETP is designed to facilitate the ongoing education of trustees at a California Community College by providing a solid foundation for effective board governance. We proudly offer the only certificate program in the state for community college trusteeship. The program fulfills the WASC Accreditation Standard IV.C.9 which requires governing boards to participate in “an ongoing training program for board development including new member orientation.”

Below are the ETP competencies that will be offered at these workshops:
[A] - Accreditation
[BA] - Brown Act Training
[BE] - Board Evaluation
[BC] - Board/CEO Relationship
[DEIA] - Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Access
[E] - Ethics Training
[FR] - Fiscal Responsibilities
[G] - Governance
[SS] - Student Success

All trustees should enroll in this program before attending this event. To learn more about ETP, click here.
